Welcome to The Fur Stories ("we", "us", "our"), a pet health management platform operated by The Fur Stories (a sole proprietorship registered in India). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on the Platform. By using the Platform you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are accessing the Platform on behalf of a minor's pet care data, you take full responsibility for ensuring appropriate parental or guardian consent is in place.

The Platform is intended for use by residents of India. Use from outside India is at your own risk and we make no representation that the Platform complies with the laws of other jurisdictions.

2. Account Registration

You may register using an email address and password, a one-time code sent to your email, Google, or (on iOS) Apple. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@thefurstories.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these Terms.

3. The Platform and Its Features

The Fur Stories provides tools for pet owners and household members ("co-parents") to log and track:

• Medical records, vaccinations, medications, and lab results
• Daily health logs (weight, activity, water intake, poop logs)
• Nutrition and meal tracking
• AI-assisted features including a vet chat assistant, document scanning, and AI-generated pet stories
• Email reminders for care schedules
• Household sharing with invited secondary caregivers

The Platform is for personal, non-commercial pet care use only unless you have a separate written agreement with us.

4. AI-Assisted Features — Important Disclaimer

The Platform includes AI-assisted features such as a vet chat assistant and document scanner powered by third-party large language models (including Anthropic Claude and Google Gemini). These features are for informational and organisational purposes only and do not constitute veterinary advice.

AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inapplicable to your pet's specific circumstances. Always consult a qualified, licensed veterinarian for any medical decisions about your pet. We expressly disclaim any liability for reliance on AI-generated content.

5. Household Sharing

Primary account holders ("Primary Parents") may invite secondary caregivers ("Secondary Parents") to access shared pet records. By accepting an invitation you acknowledge that the Primary Parent controls access and may revoke it at any time. We are not responsible for disputes between household members regarding data access or pet care decisions.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Platform, including pet photos, health records, and notes ("User Content"). By uploading User Content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide the Platform's services to you. We will not sell your User Content to third parties.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content (including photos or scanned documents). Do not upload content that is illegal, infringes third-party rights, or contains personal information about people who have not consented.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Platform
• Upload malicious code, malware, or content designed to harm the Platform or other users
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Platform without our prior written consent
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data

8. Fees and Payments

The Platform is currently offered free of charge. We may introduce paid subscription tiers in the future, in which case we will notify you in advance. Any payments will be processed in Indian Rupees (INR) and will be subject to applicable GST.

9. Intellectual Property

All rights in the Platform — including but not limited to the software, design, branding, logos, and blog content — are owned by or licensed to The Fur Stories. Nothing in these Terms grants you a right to use our trademarks, trade names, or logos without our prior written consent.

10. Third-Party Services

The Platform relies on third-party service providers for functions including database storage, authentication, cloud hosting, AI processing, and email delivery. Your use of the Platform is subject to those providers' respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties. 11. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranty, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

We are not a veterinary services provider. Nothing on the Platform constitutes professional veterinary, medical, nutritional, or other professional advice.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, The Fur Stories and its owner(s) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or any harm to your pet arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed INR 1,000 (one thousand Indian Rupees) or the amount you paid us in the preceding three months, whichever is higher.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Fur Stories and its owner(s), employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Platform, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@thefurstories.com. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

On account deletion, we will delete your personal data and pet data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules made thereunder, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the effective date above and, where practicable, notify you by email. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
